9 TYPES OF PINTEREST PINS TO INCREASE IMPRESSIONS AND CLICKS

If you’re using Pinterest to market your products or services, you should always be experimenting with different trends and strategies.

We want to make sure that our pins get seen from as many people as possible, and we also want engagement and saves, in order to reach our main goal with Pinterest, which is traffic to our websites.

Here are nine types of Pinterest pins that you can try when creating pins in your weekly workflow.

1. STANDARD PINS

These are the classic pins, also called ‘static’ pins. Usually these graphics have one image and a title, but you can also have a collection of different images.

2. VIDEO PINS

Pinterest is promoting videos more than ever. Some accounts actually see more impressions when posting videos rather than static images. Video pins could feature a person talking to camera, or a product in action. You can create videos with or without text, but it can be useful to add it if you’re explaining something and the users don’t have the sound on.

3. PINS WITH IMAGES ONLY

In the home decor niche, image-only pins are very popular, because people want to see the decorations and don’t need much explanation.

If you’re a food blogger, I always recommend having some kind of text, because the title can give very useful information. For example, someone might click on a certain image because the text says ‘gluten-free’ or ‘vegan’.

4. PINS WITH TEXT ONLY

This is a type of pin that stands out among the crowd because it has no images. You can try out some pins like this one and see if they get more impressions and engagement. Make sure the text is clear and you can also add a Call-to-Action if you want.

5. PINS WITH ANIMATED VIDEOS

You can use Canva to animate an image, so in this case the text won’t move, but the image will. You can simply use the ‘Animate’ feature on Canva and download the video as a MP4 file.

6. PINS WITH ANIMATED TEXT

The process to create this type of pins is very similar to the previous one. In Canva, you can type in your text and then click the ‘Text Animation’ button. You can choose from a variety of animations and this feature will add interest to your pin. Remember to download it as an MP4 file.

7. INFOGRAPHICS

This type of pins can be used to give information about a certain topic in a visually appealing way. If you have a lot of content, you can summarize it in this way. Just make sure not to have too much information or a very small text, otherwise it will be difficult to read it on a mobile screen.

8. QUOTES

Quotes are very popular on Pinterest. You can take a piece of content and extract some quotes from it and then create some pins. Take care of the fonts you use, to make it visually attractive.

9. GIFT GUIDES

Gift guides are especially popular during the holiday season, but they can be used all year long for special occasions such as for example Mother’s Day or Teacher Appreciation Week.
